Howdy! My name is Shaquille Gould and I am a Junior Supply Chain Management major from Killeen, Texas.  I am a member of the Corps of Cadets in Squadron 2, but more importantly I am a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2015!

 

Though I was raised in Killeen I was actually born on a small island in the Caribbean called Antigua.  My family moved to America when I was about 5. College was originally never in my plans until high school where I began to see all of my hard work paying off. I really did not have a preference on schools I just knew that I wanted to get a better education. So I applied to both A&M and t.u, and was accepted into both. Many of my teachers and mentors in high school were graduates of A&M so I was leaning more to A&M. However it wasn’t until I visited both campuses, and then went to my brother’s graduation from basic training that I knew what I wanted. I wanted to selflessly serve others, and to be around others who shared my same interests. Therefore I chose A&M and to this date has been one of the best decisions of my life.

 

In addition to the Corps and the Ross Volunteer Company there have been a couple of other organizations that have helped me grow and develop over the course of my time here at A&M. As a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity I have been able to serve my fellow students and others in the community through programs such as volunteering with the elderly, helping out at the Boys and Girls club, or through some of our national initiatives such as guide right mentoring program or raising money for IKare.  When I was in century singers I was able to do what I enjoy for A&M while also building some great friendships. I was able to go on tour and help showcase our school to others, and I was also able to serve A&M by singing in the choir at Freshman Convocation and at Muster. These experiences have helped me become more passionate about serving others.

 

Every day I remember how blessed I am to be a member of this great family, and it would be an honor and privilege to serve this school and the entire aggie family as a Senior Yell Leader.
